What is Panopto?

Panopto is a module that allows you to embed and display Panopto videos within Moodle.

By default, even if a URL is shared externally, only users logged into Moodle can view the video; you can set the sharing scope for each video.

10.3.1. How to Use Panopto

1. Install the Panopto module.

2. Configure Panopto and click "Save changes" The Panopto video will appear as an embedded video.

<General>

  • Select content: Select the content to display in the module from Panopto.

    • Select: Embed and display a pre-recorded video from the available options.
    • Upload: Upload and display video data from your device.
    • Recording: Record a video and upload it.

  • Activity Name: The name of the module.

  • Activity description: This is a description of Panopto.

<Grade>

  • Allow Panopto to add grades in the gradebook: Configure the system to allow Panopto to be added to the gradebook.
