What is a database?

This module is designed to collect participants' posts (entries) and share information across the entire course.

10.8.1. How to Use the Database

1. Install the "Database" module.

2. Configure the module.

3. Configure the required fields for the entry and save them.

A field refers to the information required to make an entry.

4. Configure the template and save it.

A template refers to the input fields for an entry.

★If configuring fields or templates is difficult, you can easily set the entry format by using presets.

You can view previews of each preset and select a format.

5. Participants will add entries according to the specified settings.

10.8.2. Database Configuration

  • Name: The name of the module displayed on the course.
  • Description: This is a description of the module.

<Entry>

  • Approval required: Set whether approval is required for everyone to view this content.
  • Allow comments on entries: Set whether comments can be posted on this post.
  • Entries required before viewing: Set the number of entries that must be posted before other entries can be viewed.

<Availability>

  • Available from: Set the date and time when the module will be accessible.
  • Available to: Set the date and time when access to the module will be disabled.
  • Read only from: Set the date and time when the entry becomes available for viewing.
  • Read only to: Set the date and time after which the entry will no longer be viewable.

<Rating>

  • Roles with permission to rate: Roles with permissions that can be evaluated are displayed. (You cannot make changes.)
  • Aggregate type: Configure the scoring method.
    • No rating: No rating will be given.
    • Average of rating: The average of all scores.
    • Count of rating: This refers to the number of items that have been evaluated and will contribute to the final score. Please note that the total cannot exceed the maximum possible score for the activity.
    • Maximum score: The maximum score will be the final score.
    • Minimum grade: The minimum grade will be the final grade.
    • Sum of rating: All scores are added together. Please note that the total cannot exceed the maximum score for the activity.
