3. About the Notebook

Notes are a feature similar to a medical record that allows you to keep track of information about users—either individually, within a course, or across the entire site. There are the following types of notes:

  • Site Notes: These notes are visible to all users with the Teacher role or higher across the entire Moodle site.

  • Course Notes: These notes are visible to users with the role of Instructor or higher within the course. They are used by instructors to share information about students.

  • Personal Notes: These are notes intended solely for a specific user—yourself. Use them as personal notes about students.

How to View Notes

1. Go to the course to which the user you want to view belongs, and click "Participants"

2. Click the user whose medical record you want to view. Once the selected user’s profile appears, click “Notes.”

3. The selected user's profile will be displayed. Site notes and course notes are shared, but personal notes are visible only to the user.

How to Take Notes

1. Follow the steps above and click "Add a new note"

2. Enter the note's content in the "Content" field and specify the audience in the "Context" field. When you're finished editing, click "Save changes"
