4. Course Details¶
Set up the course¶
Click "Settings" at the top of the course page to open the course settings screen. Once you've finished making your changes, click "Save and view" at the bottom of the page.

Course Settings¶

Course full name: The name of the course displayed on the page.

Course shortname: The name of the course displayed in limited space.

Course Category: This is the category in which the course is located.

Course Visibility: You can configure settings so that the course is not visible to users other than the instructor and administrators. Set it to "Hidden" while the course is in preparation, and to "Visible" when it is open.

Enable download course content: You can configure this feature to allow users to download all downloadable items in the course—such as files and pages—as a single ZIP file.

Course start Date: You can specify the start date and time for the course. Courses scheduled to start in the future will be displayed as "Future" courses when sorted within My Courses.

Course End Date: You can specify the date and time when the course ends. After the course ends, it will appear under "Past" when sorting courses in My Courses.

Course ID number: Used when integrating with external systems.

Course summary: This is the course description. When searching the course list, the course overview text is included in the search results along with the course title.

Course Image: Set the course's image icon.

- Format: Select the course format from the options below.
1. Custom Sections: You can use sections to divide the course into sections and place modules within them.

- Hidden sections: Configure whether hidden sections are completely invisible to students or appear as unavailable.
- Course Layout: Set whether to display the content of all sections on the page.
2. Weekly Section: A section is created for each week, with this week’s section highlighted.

3. Single Activity: Displays a single module as a course on the course page.

- Type of activity: Select a module for a single activity page.
4. Social: This is a course page that displays only the discussion board (forum).

- Number of discussions: Set the number of discussions to display.

Force theme: Set whether to display the course page using a specific theme.

Force language: Configure whether to display the course page in a specific language.

Number of announcements displayed: Set the number of announcements automatically generated on the course page.

Show gradebook to students: Set whether to display the course gradebook to students.

Show Activity Report: Enable students to view their activity reports from their profiles.

Show activity dates: Set whether to display the module start date and due date.

- Maximum upload size: Sets the maximum file size for student uploads.
<Completion Tracking>

Enable Completion Tracking: Set whether to enable the activity completion and course completion features.

Show activity completion conditions: Set whether to display the activity completion status on the course page when using the activity completion feature.
<Group>

Group Mode: Select the type of group you want to use from the options below.
- No group: Do not use the group feature
- Separate group: Students can view only their own group's module page.
- Visible groups: Students can view the module pages of other groups as well.

Force group mode: Set whether to enforce group-based restrictions on activities within the course.
- Default grouping: This setting enables grouping (grouping of items).

Set tags for the course. You can enter them manually or select them from a predefined list.
