3.2. Adding Students to a Course

The process by which instructors enroll users in a course is called "manual enrollment." Users enrolled via manual enrollment can only be unenrolled through actions taken on the course page.
Use this option when adding students other than those enrolled in the course, such as teaching assistants.

How to Register Manually

1. Click "Participants" on the course page.

2. Click "Register User" on the "Participants" page.

3. When the registration options screen opens, select the users you want to enroll in the course and choose the roles to assign them. Once you have made your selections, click "Enroll selected users and cohorts."

★You can select multiple users. You can choose them from the drop-down menu or enter a username or student ID in the search box and search to select them.

When re-registering past participants for a course If you wish to re-enroll a user who has previously taken the course, you can follow the steps below to carry over the grades they received on quizzes and assignments completed before they dropped the course, so that these grades are reflected after re-enrollment.

1. When re-registering a user, click "Show more" at the bottom left of the "Registration options" page.

2. By checking the box next to "Recover user's old grades if possible" in the expanded options and then registering the user, you can re-register the user with their ratings from before they were unregistered.

How to remove a user from a course

On the "Participants" page of the course, click the delete icon on the far right of the relevant user's name to display the confirmation screen for unregistering them. Click "Unregister" on this screen to remove the user from the course.
